Saint John Vianney Parish Mission Statement

We, the members of St. John Baptist Vianney Church in Gladwyne, share in the mission of the Church of Philadelphia united with the Churches around the world in communion with the Church of Rome and its Bishop, our Holy Father, the Pope.

Having been baptized into Christ Jesus, we are one in the Church's teaching given to us through Sacred Scripture and Apostolic Tradition. Through this Baptism, we are also consecrated to share with those around us the presence of Christ within us through our gifts and ministries and, by the grace of God, we do this in the following ways:

1. By worshiping God through private and common prayer and celebrating the Eucharist and the other sacraments properly and with fitting dignity.

2. By nourishing family life and fostering community within the parish and striving for a closer relationship with surrounding communities.

3. By proclaiming to our neighbors by word and example the Good News of Christ’s presence in us and among us and, with God’s help, to share with them our Faith and our Mission.

4. By teaching our adults and our children as effectively as possible the saving message of Christ.

5. By serving parishioners who are in spiritual, social and physical need and to use our resources in serving the needs of others.

Lord, grant us the grace to be steadfast. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord.
